A priority of the board this year will be to help all our clubs make positive moves toward greater historical accuracy in their presentations of the vintage game.The board will help achieve this goal through an assertive program of education, expectation and encouragement. The first step in this process was a vote by the board to require all member clubs to specify a primary year of interpretation, and to pledge reasonable diligence in achieving historical accuracy. Most of our clubs have already identified a primary year, and the board can help any club who hasn't already done so, to find a rules-set that most closely matches the game they prefer to play. And, as our mission statement says, we are: "Presenting the game of base ball as it was actually played in accordance with the rules, equipment, uniforms, field specifications, customs, practices, language, and behavioral norms of the period."
