2008 Convention Information

The Ghosts of the Excelsior Base Ball Club of Baltimore

Invite You to the 2008 VBBA Convention

January 18-20, 2008 in Baltimore, Maryland

Plan on joining us at one of the first great base ball cities in America as the 19th Century Base Ball Clubs of Maryland host the first VBBA Convention to be held on the eastern seaboard.

Activities for the weekend will revolve around the famous Inner Harbor as well as the Babe Ruth Museum and Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The Holiday Inn at the Inner Harbor will be the host hotel for the weekend party in Charm City!

On Saturday, there will be a vendor show and silent auction. Choose 3 workshops to attend out of 9 being offered. Subjects will include marketing, fund raising, publicity, scorecard & broadside making, umpiring, hitting, pitching and much more. In the afternoon there will be a chance for regional meetings to discuss matters with other clubs in your area. Keynote speakers are being lined up now. Saturday's Happy Hour will feature "Pitch your Tournament or Fill your Schedule!" and then a banquet will follow, followed by entainment around Baltimore

On Sunday, we get down to VBBA business with board meetings, business meetings, a Constitutional and By-Law Convention, and finally a meeting on historical accuracy. Along the way you can get tours of the Babe Ruth Birthplace, Camden Yards, and more!
