The Newtown Sandy Hook Vintage Base Ball Club, born in 2005 in Newtown, CT, was the first vintage team formed in Fairfield County, Connecticut. The mission of the Newtown Sandy Hook club is to provide wholesome recreation to those who wish to experience our national pastime played in the style and traditions of the 19th Century, while recapturing the competitive history of the villages of Newtown and Sandy Hook.

The Sandy Hook’s play by the rules of the 1860’s, but also play by 1870 and 80’s rules for some occasions (Pittsfield Vintage Base Ball ‘1886’ Tournament). The Club is committed to the more aggressive style of play that is prevalent in the region.

In 2007, the club assisted in the formation of the Bridgeport Orators club, which compliments the NSHBBC club on numerous levels and provides an on-going slate of games, scrimmages and activities consistent with the history and nature of both communities.

The club is funded through sponsorships, gifts, specially branded soft drinks, and food products.
