The Mighty River Hogs of Midland County were established in 2001 by skilled ball players from the Mid-Michigan area. We honor the heritage of Midland’s past & present ball players and also honor those who worked in the area’s historic lumbering industry. The name “River Hogs” refers to the men who rode the logs floating down river to break up the log jams that frequently occurred. Our games closely follow the traditions and values of the time when base ball was developed as a means of entertainment and exercise. You can expect to see the highest standards of sportsmanship and gentlemanly behavior by everyone involved in our matches. Join us at one of our events to watch the Mighty River Hogs and witness the way base ball was meant to be played. Our home matches are played at Chippawassee Park, in the shadow of Midland’s famous Tridge crossing the Chippewa and Tittabawassee Rivers. We play numerous home & away games, have exhibitions at area festivals, and participate at Midland’s annual River Days celebration. Visit our website for more details. ContactGary Rocha |
