The Great Black Swamp Frog Base Ball Club plays Civil War Era base ball matches using rules codified in 1860. The Frogs wear authentic uniforms of the period modeled after the 1866 Baraboo, Wisconsin Base Ball Club uniform displayed at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York and the uniform of the New York Knickerbocker Club of 1859. The Frogs are based in Sylvania, Ohio. The team is so named because of the The Great Black Swamp that once covered much of northwest Ohio and because Toledo was known as Frogtown. ContactRick Fuchs |
