The Eclipse BBC of Elkton is the re-creation of one of the first base ball clubs on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Originally founded in 1866, the Eclipse were a base ball club in every sense of the word originally having over 40 members of which to pick a first nine from. Today, the Eclipse once again brings base ball back to Cecil County. It plays its home matches by the rules of 1864 at Historic Elk Landing at the head of the Chesapeake Bay. We welcome all VBBA members who wish to come down for the weekend to challenge the Eclipse. In 2006 our schedule includes opponents such as the New York Mutuals, the Brooklyn Atlantics, the Flemington Neshanock, The Easton Fairplays, the Chesapeake & Potomac BBC, the New York Gothams, and several others. In addition we will be traveling to the Old Time Base Ball Festival in Old Bethpage, NY, as well as Flemington,NJ, Central Park, NYC to challenge the Gothams and to Smithtown to take on the Brooklyn Atlantics.
