Diamond State BBC

Location
Delaware City, DE
Rules Used
1866

The Diamond State Base Ball Club is Delaware’s first amateur vintage base ball club, comprised of member-player and volunteer associates. We serve to demonstrate the spirit and ideals of the early days of the National Pastime as we show how the game was intended to be played, in the spirit of good sportsmanship and with manners and courtesy.

Our club’s name, uniforms and rules by which we play are based upon those used by the original Diamond State Base Ball Club, the pre-eminent base ball club in Delaware, during its inaugural year of 1866.

It’s our goal to:

• give our participants an outlet for physical exercise;
• study, teach and promote historical elements of the game of baseball, especially as it relates to state and local history, and;
• provide the state and region with a fun, unique ‘living history’ attraction, while serving as a point of community pride.

Much more information about our club can be found on our website.
