It was in 1994 with the support of the Canal Fulton Heritage Society, that the Fulton Mules Vintage Base Ball Club also chose Village Park as their home. The goal was simple; provide people with an entertaining look of a time when the Ohio Erie Canal was at its peak and Base Ball was a simple game played by everyday people. The Mules schedule about seventeen matches per year against other Vintage Base ball Clubs and have hosted teams from as near as Akron, Ohio and as far as Colorado. The Mules uniform reflects an earlier time in baseball costuming. The Boston style club cap was popular in the earliest years of the game. Each member is outfitted in the basic color of natural and black with the club sash depicting the club mascot, a canal mule. The various patterns of blouses may have been common among earlier teams as uniforms were made one-by-one as players joined the team. The equipment has been reproduced from actual 1860s specifications.
