The present day Brooklyn Atlantic Base Ball Club was established in early 1997, and began play on May 11, 1997. The present Atlantic team honors the original Brooklyn Atlantics for their first undefeated Championship season, establishing itself as an 1864 vintage team, yet has the versatility to play by the rules of any era.
