World Tournament of Historic Base Ball, August 1 -3, 2008 Greenfield Village (Dearborn, MI, outside of Detroit) is hosting the 6th Annual World Tournament of Historic Base Ball. The tournament features a bracket-style championship series with 16 clubs guaranteed to play at least three games. A Champion and Reserve Champion are awarded in the two classes. The Greenfield Village tournament is based on the original World’s Tournament of Base Ball, hosted by the Detroit Base Ball Club, played in Detroit in 1867. Each participating club will receive: • stipend for their participation • participant buttons per active participant (allows admission to both Greenfield Village AND to the Henry Ford Museum for the weekend and following Monday --see www.thehenryford.org for more about the museum and Village • Discount coupons for additional food and rides • Lunches for active participants. • Additional amenities and packages are being developed for participating clubs and their families.
